Attorney General's Office named a top workplace in Minnesota for fourth year in a row

Office received special recognition for leadership among midsize employers

Award comes after the Office received national top workplace awards for the last three years

June 20, 2024 (SAINT PAUL) – Today, Attorney General Ellison announced that the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office received the Star Tribune’s 2024 Top Workplace award for the fourth year in a row, having previously received the award in 20232022, and 2021. In receiving the award, the Office earned special recognition for scoring highest on questions of leadership among midsize employers.

On March 20, the Attorney General’s Office was also named a Top Workplace nationally by USA Today for the third year in a row, and on April 19, the Office received special recognition for the work it does to hire, retain, and support veterans and the military-connected community.

“The mission of our office is clear: we help Minnesotans afford their lives and live with dignity, safety, and respect,” said Attorney General Ellison. “Everyone on our team has a voice and a say in how our workplace is run, and everyone is invited to bring their talent and creativity to bear in accomplishing our mission. When you get a great team together, make their objectives clear, and give them the freedom to pursue those objectives as best they can, incredible things can happen.”

“I am so proud of the outstanding staff at the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office,” Ellison added. “I will continue to do my best to make the Attorney General’s Office a place where the best and brightest want to work and want to serve the people of Minnesota.”

“It is a tremendous accomplishment for the Attorney General’s Office to be named a top workplace by the Star Tribune four years in a row,” said former Minnesota Attorney General Skip Humphrey. “When the staff of the Attorney General’s Office has high morale, all Minnesotans benefit. That strong workplace culture allows the Office to recruit and retain extremely talented employees who show up ready to serve our state as best they can. Kudos to Attorney General Ellison and the rest of his team for building a strong, united, and highly driven workplace.”

"I was excited to learn that the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General is on the list of Minnesota’s top workplaces," said former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Alan Page. "When employers create an environment in which employees can thrive, everybody wins. In this case it is a win, not only for those who work in the AG’s office, but for all Minnesotans. And, as I have learned along the way, you can never have too many winners."
